3D-printed PCB Soldering Frame

Published 2021/01/15

The idea

This is a helper for soldering PCBs. You can put all your parts in and "secure" them with the foam lid. After that you can flip it around and solder the pads on the backside. Super helpful.
Wasn't my idea though, there are commercial products like that on the market that function more or less like that (just without the springs and all metal of course). They are just a bit too expensive for me.

P.S. yes, the screws part is a bit wonky but I wanted to see if it works at all before I go a bit more advanced on some proper clips.
P.P.S. The surface looks way worse in the pictures than it actually is. It's mostly moiré artifacts.

Got files?

This is a 3d printed project, specifially tailored for the tolerances and "quirks" of my printer. Probably works on any other too, may need a bit filing here and there though.
Personally, planning and modelling all the parts is half of the fun for me, but if someone's interested, let me know and I'll make the files available.
